Trafficable and non-trafficable access covers can be light-duty polyethylene, composite resin or heavy-duty cast iron gas-tight. We can help you with access grates in Class B and D.

If the tank is installed in a non-trafficable location, the 150 kg rated unfilled polyethylene access cover can be used. However, if higher vertical loads up to 510 kg are expected, the composite resin cover or the cast iron flush finish Class B (rated 510kg loading) cover should be used.
There can be some special examples where higher than 510kg wheel loading may be expected, e.g. Roadways. In those cases, a Class D cast iron cover can be used with a specially designed surface slab designed to carry such excessive loads. A Certified Civil Engineer should design such a special slab.
